You Be You
You Be You is a youth-led social enterprise based in Lambeth, committed to empowering young people—particularly those from marginalised and underrepresented backgrounds—to find their voice and thrive. We exist to tackle systemic inequality and exclusion by equipping young people with the confidence, skills, and platforms to lead in their communities and beyond.
Our programmes are co-designed with young people, ensuring that every workshop or project reflects their lived experiences and priorities. Through creative, discussion-based sessions focused on identity, belonging, and leadership, we build personal and social skills that are often overlooked in formal education. Our work spans primary through to secondary level, with age-appropriate workshops covering topics such as anti-racism, mental health, cultural pride, and youth voice.
In primary schools, we focus on early confidence-building, emotional literacy, and inclusion—laying the foundations for future leadership and resilience. These early interventions help children develop empathy, creativity, and a strong sense of self at a critical stage of their development.
To date, we’ve supported over 16,000 people across London, Birmingham, and Bradford. We believe in doing things with young people, not for them. We don’t speak for the next generation—we build platforms for them to speak for themselves. In one of our recent programmes, 91% of participants said they felt more connected to their peers and community, while 89% reported improved confidence and communication.
At You Be You, we believe in doing things with young people, not for them. We don’t speak for the next generation—we build platforms for them to speak for themselves.
