Jo is late diagnosed neurodivergent with lived experience of autism, OCD and situational mutism and has EDS.

She has worked in a variety of SEND settings including primary and secondary specific learning difficulties, profound multiple learning difficulties, complex communication needs and for RNIB for students who had learning differences and a visual impairment. She has also worked in an ASD residential setting. She is passionate about working alongside Children, Young People and adults whose needs are SEND / Neurodiversity. This could be diagnosed or undiagnosed primary needs and with co-morbid diagnoses.

I have extensive knowledge of working with many families and children, young people over the years who have a variety of needs, whether profound needs, language needs, social communication needs, specific learning needs, SEMH and autistic spectrum conditions.

Alongside this she has worked for Local Authorities as both Advisory Teachers and as Service Managers supporting schools, children & young people and families as well as developing resources and training specific SLCN courses, and leading advisory teachers and home based outreach services.

Jo became a SEND Consultant 5 years ago to primarily supports schools & businesses both in delivering a robust strategic approach to SLCN and SEND, and delivering a wide range of SLCN themed training programs both locally and nationally, after being a SEND teacher for many years.
Jo is a member of key SLCN companies including Speech & Language UK Tutor delivering all the Talkboost programs, and Elklan trainer, a Block Therapy Practitioner as well as being a Neuroinclusive Education Network Associate (Formally Autism Education Trust).

She is a speaker on SEND and all things on communication as well as now delivering her own personal story on being late diagnosed.

I primarily work with organisations and education settings with SEND and Neurodiversity.
