I am an SLCN (Speech Language Communication Needs) Consultant, within in Communication and SEND. I am neurodivergent with lived experience of autism and OCD and situational mutism. I also live with EDS and significant areas of this.

Within my business I support the promotion and understanding of SLCN within education, work and family environments. I work alongside Children, Young People and adults whose needs are SEND / Neurodiversity. This could be diagnosed or undiagnosed primary needs and with co-morbid diagnoses. My role includes delivering training and workshops at conferences on SEND and all items relating to communication and talking about my own experiences. I deliver training on SLCN, autism, SEMH, social stories, comic strip conversations, solution circles as well as more recently, talking about my own late diagnoses.

I have extensive knowledge of working with families and children, young people who have a variety of differences, whether profound needs, language needs, social communication needs, specific learning needs, SEMH and autistic spectrum conditions.

As a teacher I have worked in a variety of SEND settings including primary and secondary specific learning difficulties, profound multiple learning difficulties, complex communication needs and with RNIB for students who had learning differences and a visual impairment. I have also worked in an ASD residential setting.

Within my work with MATS, schools where SEMH / SLCN, ASD etc. and MLD are diagnosed needs, I support with strategic development and staff development.

I am always developing a wider knowledge and understanding for SLCN, ASC and EDS.
