Hidayah LGBTQI+
Hidayah is the UK’s leading queer Muslim charity. Our vision is to ensure our voices are heard and understood. Our mission is to provide support and welfare for LGBTQI+ Muslims and promote social justice and education about our community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice.
Hidayah means “guidance” in Arabic. We host regular events with a substantial membership programme and burgeoning mentoring scheme. Our extensive outreach to charity, corporate, public sector and healthcare organisations includes training sessions and workshops for Fairfield Community School and Switchboard LGBT. As a volunteer-led charity by and for queer Muslims, we work tirelessly to create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ Muslims to be their full selves, without suppressing their gender identity, sexuality or faith. We also recognise that being “out” is not always an option and we take significant measures to ensure the safety and privacy of our service users.
