Future Medics Forum CIC

Future Medics Forum CIC is a community interest company committed to widening participation in medicine and the health professions, with a strong focus on race equity, social mobility and positive representation. The organisation works with children, young people, parents, schools, community groups and healthcare professionals to raise aspirations, improve access to careers information and challenge the barriers that can prevent talented students from under-represented backgrounds from seeing themselves in medicine.

Its activities include inspirational events, mentoring, careers talks, school and community engagement, and the development of educational resources that showcase diverse role models. A key strand of the Forum’s work is celebrating the achievements of Black and minority ethnic doctors, including through the 100 Great Black British Doctors project, which aims to make visible the contributions, journeys and leadership of doctors whose stories are often absent from mainstream careers education.

For an EDI network, Future Medics Forum CIC offers a practical and values-led partnership. Its work supports inclusive recruitment pipelines, strengthens community trust, promotes culturally relevant role modelling and encourages organisations to move beyond statements of commitment towards measurable outreach and engagement. The Forum also creates opportunities for doctors, students and allies to contribute as speakers, mentors and advocates. By connecting lived experience, professional expertise and community insight, Future Medics Forum CIC helps build a more representative, confident and inclusive future healthcare workforce.

100 Black British Doctors anthology is being launched by FMF – our next event in this process will be 9th July 2026
