Association for Science Education

The Association for Science Education (ASE) is an active membership body that has been supporting all those involved in science education from pre-school to higher education for over 100 years; members include teachers, technicians, teacher educators, researchers and others involved in science education.

A central part of our work is ensuring science education is inclusive, representative and welcoming to everyone. Our Equity in Science Education programmes support schools and educators to develop inclusive practice, remove barriers to participation and create learning environments where all students can thrive, regardless of background or circumstance.

We run CPD for educators throughout the year including UK’s largest science education conference in January. We have monthly Inclusive Science Education forums and we have on demand courses for making science teaching more inclusive in the secondary and primary age phases.

Our impact is seen in classrooms, schools and communities across the UK, where educators are better supported, students are more engaged, and science becomes more accessible and meaningful for all. By championing excellence, inclusion and collaboration, we help build a confident science education workforce and inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators and informed citizens.
